From the day it earned independence from the British, the United States of America was a country founded on God, commonly referenced under the notion of American exceptionalism; a theory that America's success was due to God's divine intervention.
Now, the term has expanded to include Israel, which was the theme of this year's Christians United for Israel summit in Washington, DC where participants and attendees affirmed biblical links to both countries
